This remarkably timely fiction illustrates a pursuit to come to terms with life, how to see things as they are and how to act in a way which brings relative happiness and peace with self and others – how to live.
Amidst great confusion, conflict, and the world of calamities and crises, brought about by corrupt and selfish behaviour, Miguel, a modern-day president of Mexico, attentively finds a way to deal with his destructive programmed predisposition and a chaotic thought process. He finds a way to balance what his inner voice tells him with many voices that come from the outside and the world of others.
Miguel’s compelling story is one of discovery, transformation, and growth, as he faces personal and professional difficulties. Through a glimpse into his inner life and the practical application of his discoveries, we are shown how his efforts bring consequences that significantly influence and transform his path, those of many others, and the future of his beloved country as well as the world.
Seeing the Current State of the World with Critical and Remedial Concern, Sunstone Press, 2025
We live in a world of fear. Fear for our own individual well-being and for that of those we love. We live in great anxiety in the midst of countless threatening crises.
We are not managing our affairs well as individual human beings or as compatriots and colleagues of the rest of the human race. We seem intent on destroying our world and our lives, or at least not doing our part to enrich our environment or our existence in that environment.
We have become victims of our own ill-conceived and misguided actions towards other and, by the same token, we are victims of one another’s conduct or, more accurately, of their misconduct.
We are unfortunate subjects of our own ill-advised and self-centred pursuits, and we are not managing our lives or our affairs, individual or collective in ways that are developmental i.e., progressive and enriching, ways that would bring hope for positive change. We are, consequently, on the verge of despair as we head towards a new kind of pandemic. That pandemic may well jeopardize or even undermine the integrity of our mental health, and it will be triggered by our tragic penchant to fill our lives with destructive, self-defeating behaviour.
